Get the most value out of your LipSense purchase
- LipSense needs to be applied to clean, dry lips. If you have lip color, chap stick, gloss, moisturizer, foundation or oils from foods, the colour will not hold as promised. Think of applying LipSense like painting a wall. If the surface is clean and dry the paint adheres better. After applying my makeup, I wash my lips with the corner of a wet washcloth.
- LipSense is colour pigment in a suspension fluid, so it is important to shake the tube 5-10 seconds before you apply. You should hear the mixing balls moving inside the tube.
- If you like to line your lips, try our lip liner - Lip Liners- or line with LipSense using the pointed part of the LipSense applicator. You can draw a firm line using only LipSense. If you need to do any correcting to your liner or LipSense just erase with your Waterproof Makeup Remover(provided in your Starter Set) and wipe away.
- You will apply three thin coats of LipSense (we recommend a minimum of three and up to 5) – allowing each coat to dry about 5 seconds. Between coats, resist the urge to rub your lips together! This can be done after your gloss is applied. If you are using a highlighter, your top coat will be highlighter. LipSense colours mix beautifully – so get creative!
- Think of applying LipSense more like painting than applying lipstick. Go in one direction, as opposed to the back-and-forth motion you use with wax lipsticks. You can go all the way across the top lip or the left side, then the right, before moving on to the bottom lip. You may find the colour is more even if you start on the right side for the first coat, and left side on the second coat, etc. (This is because there is more product on the applicator when you first take it out of the tube.)
- If you experience a tingling sensation after applying LipSense, don’t worry. This is normal for women with dry lips. (Many women who regularly use wax lipstick and chap stick have dry lips.) The tingling will stop immediately when you apply the Shea Butter gloss and won’t happen at all after a few days of using the Shea Butter gloss.
- After you have put on the LipSense colour liberally apply the gloss and rub your lips together to distribute the gloss. Reapply as needed during the day and after eating. For the first week use your gloss frequently and at night before bed. Your lips will quickly feel softer and healthier than ever before. If you notice slight exfoliating of your lips, don’t worry. This is natural and will reveal healthy skin cells below!
- LipSense mistakes can be corrected with Ooops! and removed at night with glycerin soap (like original Neutrogena) and a cotton pad, cotton ball or washcloth. Don’t use soap on your lips every night – only if you still have a lot of product left on your lips.
Finally: I would like to ask for your commitment to use, and work with, LipSense for one week. We have found that if women keep their promise to do this, 99% of them become loyal LipSense wearers. In fact, most of them tell us they can no longer imagine wearing anything else. BUT, because it is so different and because the product wears a little differently on each person, you’ll need to work through the learning curve. Do that and I guarantee results you will love! PLEASE CALL ME IF YOU NEED HELP OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
Now that I wear LipSense every day I only apply the gloss 2-3 times a day. Once when I put it on and maybe 1-2 times after coffee and/or food.
