Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lash Tint in 02 Black
"Up to 3 days of dark, natural, defined lashes with no smudges, flakes, or clumps."
When this said Tint, I really wasn't expecting much of anything. To me a tint is a super light color with no thickness or volume to it. Boy was I surprised. Upon first application, it says to apply 1-2 quick coats and let dry. Once it's dried, reapplying is a no-no according to package directions, and a oily based eye makeup remover is needed to remove. Well, you're looking at a girl with super thin, light black lashes that are almost invisible when they are mascara free. So count me in to see if a tint is worth purchasing. On first application, I applied, two quick coats as directed and immediately noticed the feeling of fumes near my eyes. Not a pleasant thing, but it went away quick without irritating my super sensitive eyes. Low and behold, a tint this is not. Super dark, and super long. Light on the thickness side, but if we're aiming for a tint effect, I can see why. One thing I did notice was that my normally curved lashes seemed to straighten out. Huh? So straight, that my top and bottom lashes were sticking together everytime I blinked.
So time for test application #2. This time, I curled my lashes first, and applied as directed. Low and behold, the curling beforehand left my lashes curled all day long. Though I did have a slight 'crusty' feel to my lashes, once I waited for the overly long time for them to dry, the feeling did go away. Bad part? The leave on for up to '3 days' claim is is definitely not doable. My lashes by nighttime were so dry and itchy, that i couldn't wait to wash it off. And only the greasiest of mineral oil would do the trick. I would call this mascara a nice in between version of natural and mega-lash. Would I buy this product again? Possibly not. I'd give this a C.
